What does "CORTBURG" mean? Often the first question we at Cortburg Retirement Planning receive from prospective clients is, "What is Cortburg? What does it mean?" Cort represents Corton Hill and Burg represents Burgundy. Corton Hill is nestled in the Côte de Beaune sub region of Burgundy, an area in eastern France, known for making some of the best wines in the world. We think “Cortburg” is a fitting name because we pride ourselves on providing the highest level of excellence to our clients and partners. At Cortburg Retirement Planning, we see many similarities between investing and wine making. Much like a winemaker, we as financial advisors pay very close attention to the details of your portfolio in order to provide you with an experience that will leave you with a good after-taste. Like winemaking, in investing you need a professional to allocate the correct mix of products or ingredients needed for the individual wine or portfolio construction. Having a professional with extensive experience helps overcome any adversities, while keeping your goals and risk tolerance in mind. We believe portfolios need time to develop and to see if they've been well constructed. Like wine, portfolios should be re-evaluated on a yearly basis to make sure the process is proceeding in the right direction. As needed, you also rebalance or mix the contents to achieve a well-round, successful wine barrel or investment portfolio. Finally, after five, ten, fifteen or twenty years – you can sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor, and share with friends and family. Like the wine region we are named after, we hope to leave you feeling satisfied, wanting more, and worthy of your referrals. We feel the best wines hail from Corton, Burgundy, and we hope that you will feel that the best investment advisors come from Cortburg Retirement Planning.
